Linda Haverkamp-Heng, PhD is a qualified social worker, marital and family life educator, trainer, aspiring artist and a keen taiji practitioner. She has more than 20 years of experience in the human services. She was a senior management staff at the National Council of Social Service for 13 years before her secondment as Executive Director to the training academy of the Singapore Association of Social Workers (FRTC) where she stayed on and served for 8 years.

She is a certified Master Trainer for Prepare/Enrich Programme (USA) and an accredited MBTI Administrator.  She holds a Graduate Diploma in Solution Focused Brief Therapy. She has a Bachelor of Arts majoring in social work and sociology from the National University of Singapore (NUS). She is an award recipient of the Singapore Association of Social Workers Gold Medal, 1984. As a National Council of Social Service and Rotary International Scholar, she went to Hawaii, USA where she obtained her Master in Business Administration with Distinction. In 2007, she obtained her PhD from NUS (Social Work) and founded the Marriage and Family Institute.

She volunteers locally as well as internationally and has been a specialist volunteer to Myanmar with the Singapore International Foundation as part of the team from NUS Social Work Department . She had also served as an appointed deputy registrar of marriages (licensed solemnizer) in a voluntary capacity.

She has authored indigenious resource materials, some of which are commissioned works by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports, Civil Service College and the National Youth Council. She had served as the resident Doctor Love for Duet magazine (a SDN publication) for many years and has a special passion in conducting premarital, marital, relationships as well as personal development courses amongst others. She is also an adjunct teaching staff of a local university. Linda is married to an American Professor and they have 2 daughters.
